THE MITTI COLLECTIVE

To think about climate change and envision a better future for the next generation, first we need to think of the “mitti” under farmers’ feet !!

  • ‚Mitti‘ is a humble Hindi word for soil.
  • This is where it all starts and into this we will merge.
  • With his humble hands a farmer toils away in this Mitti and provides the world with food to eat.
  • The Mitti Collective works to empower these two important pillars of our collective existence.
  • A large part of the food we consume is either plant or plant-based!!
  • It is essential to create a nutrition-rich soil environment for healthy plants.
  • Healthy soil means healthy world

Regenerative agriculture is a sustainable solution!

For years, the global agriculture system has gradually turned from a land activity to a fully industrialized process. This transformation cost us a lot. It is said that one teaspoon of healthy soil has more microorganisms than there are people on earth. This lively richness is, unfortunately, victim to harsh synthetic fertilizers, heavy machinery and monocropping of today’s agriculture world. This has only burdened the farmers’ lives !!

Crop and soil biodiversity

Distracts pests and diversify farmers' income

No Chemical inputs

Improves farm ecosytem via nature-based farminputs

No or low tillage

Helps in plant growth and development and keeps the soil microbes alive

Cover soil

Retains moisture in the soil and keeps the soil microbes alive

Indigenous seeds, plants and trees

Climate-resilient crops and encourage local seed banks

At The Mitti Collective, we strive to establish a standard and easily accessible framework for regenerative agriculture

As opposed to conventional agriculture which is based on a linear input/output production approach which often causes damage to ecosystems and leaves food insecurity to farming communities, regenerative agriculture presents a more holistic approach.

The goal is to present regenerative agriculture as an equally viable and clearly defined path for farmers and policymakers.

With farmer-centric approach, the mitti collective works on

Knowledge Sharing through Practice

Through innovative methods we bring awareness and share the importance of agricultural ecosystem that involves all stakeholders from soil microbes, farmers, consumers to policy makers

Technology

Technology for Good: Leverage the artificial intelligence for evidence-based study, and demonstrate the importance of regenerative agriculture that can restore the biodiversity below and above the ground

Farmer

Pro-farmers: The farming communities are positioned at the centre of our ecosystem and we work on strategies to enhance their socio-economic wellbeing such as adoption of regenerative agricultural practices, income, diet, health, and satisfaction

Mitti Impact Credits

MIC credits: Collaborate with stakeholders such as a NGOs, progressive farmers, corporates and international organisations to provide ecological services and generate impact credits
